As a destination wedding photographer covering luxury weddings in Middle East, I recently had the opportunity to teach a Nikon workshop focused on desert wedding photography.
The workshop took place in the unique Madame ghost village, which is located about an hour’s drive from the centre of Dubai. With a beautiful model named Fai, I shared some of my insights on the pros and cons of photographing in the desert as a part of a real wedding day or as a separate shoot.
Benefits of the workshop
During the workshop, I focused on some useful posing tips and tricks that I use to help my clients look relaxed and candid. This is important because it helps to create natural-looking and timeless photographs that they will cherish for years to come.
As a Dubai wedding photographer, I know firsthand how popular desert wedding photography has become, especially for destination weddings. Many clients travel to Dubai specifically to have their wedding photos taken in the desert. By attending a workshop like this, photographers can gain valuable knowledge and experience to provide better service to their clients.
Why the desert?
One of the biggest benefits of desert wedding photography is the stunning natural scenery that surrounds you. The desert offers a unique and breathtaking backdrop for wedding photography that cannot be found elsewhere.
However, as with any outdoor photography, the weather can be unpredictable, so we made sure to take advantage of the diverse weather conditions we experienced during the workshop. We photographed in direct, harsh sunlight, soft overcast skies, dramatic clouds, and even some rain. These different weather conditions presented unique challenges and opportunities for creating beautiful photographs, and it was an incredible learning experience for everyone involved.

Overall, the workshop was a fantastic experience, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my knowledge and passion for desert wedding photography. I would highly recommend attending a photography workshop like this to any photographer looking to improve their skills and expand their knowledge.
